Way Over : seven conversations with Icelandic Artists
Publisher: The Icelandic Art Center General note: Never before has Icelandic art been as prominent on the international stage as in recent years. To better inform international recipients of what Icelandic visual artists of various ages are doing, the Icelandic Visual Arts Promotion Center launches a series of articles on Icelandic contemporary art every two years. The first book in the series, Way Over , was presented in various forums around the world throughout the summer of 2016 and deals with artists who work in various ways with various media and have either been very big in exhibitions or are taking their first steps. The editor of the book is Klara Þórhallsdóttir and she interviews the artists who some worked on especially for this publication. They explain the reasons for their work, discuss their latest work and where they are headed. The book includes, for example, an interview and discussion about Libia Castro and Ólafur Ólafsson, who represented Iceland at the Venice Biennale in 2011, and Egil Sæbjörnsson, who will represent Iceland at the 2017 Biennial. The artists discussed in the book are: Egil Sæbjörnsson Libia Castro and Ólafur Ólafsson Guðlaug Mía Eyþórsdóttir Styrmir Örn Guðmundsson Katrín Agnes Klar Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir Ívar ValgarðssonItem type | Current location | Home library | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
