CMD P FOR 2079 : A futuristic journey through the world of print

Publisher: Amsterdam : AGA LAB , 2019Subject(s): Sanat -- Segiler -- Abake, Emre Hüner, Karin Ferrari, ooooDDC classification: 700 General note: Emre Hüner [Elektroizolasyon]: Bilinmeyen Parametre Kayıt-Dışı = Unkown Parameter Extro-Record General note: In interaction with the curators and the collection of the Allard Pierson, the artists-in-residence investigate the above questions. In this way the exhibition creates new connections between the future, present and past. The reason for the research is the 60th anniversary of AGA LAB. As a collective creation and research place, AGA LAB gives artists, designers and photographers the space to focus on material, image and technology. In 1958, AGA LAB was set up for artists as “Amsterdams Grafisch Atelier (AGA)”. The facilities that the workplace offers nowadays give room to experiment with graphic techniques such as screen printing, etching, lithography and digital techniques. Cmd P for 2079 takes place in the partly transformed Allard Pierson, a merger of the Allard Pierson Museum and the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam. With the amalgamation of collections and modifications to the building, the museum aims to open the historic striking building on Rokin to the public. The renewed programming such as “Allard Pierson Live” and the artistic research Cmd P for 2079 help shape this process. The ‘in residence’ research period is in full swing for the coming months. The results are shown in a special exhibition in the renewed Allard Pierson. After that the exhibition will be shown in Frans Masereel Center, the new exhibition space of the Flemish colleague institution of AGA LAB.
